Trip to Bangkok August 2013

Back in August, my family and I went to Bangkok for the first time ever! =)

I booked the flight ticket over a year ago back in Oct during Airasia promo zero fare. Total fare for 4 person two way flight ticket from LCCT - Don Muang is RM 824 (we didn't pay for the luggage, all is hand carry)

Started by taking a bus trip from Penang to Pudu, then transfer a few LRT to KL Central, then took a bus to LCCT (quite troublesome, lol). It would be much easier to just fly from Penang directly to Bangkok.

Miss Peaches's pet was also tagging along, lol and she got her own seat!!! Of coz, she also need to put on her safety belt.

Once we landed, we proceed to immigration which is very fast & straight heading towards the outside taxi stand. On our way to Bangkok city, we got in the typical traffic jam (how typical). Bangkok feels totally different from Malaysia... although it is not that far from Malaysia...

Terminal 21 is sooo near from Tune Asoke..

First stop after putting our luggage into our hotel (Tune Asoke =) ), we walked towards Terminal 21's food court. I ordered my first ever meal... spicy noodles (soooo spicy i actually had a horrible stomache 1 hour after this and vomitted the whole thing out).

Spicy noodle + clear soup noodles (notice the chilly paste on the "clear soup").

Terminal 21 is really cool though.. The design on each floor is just soooo pretty.
Ground Floor: Carribean. They have a watch tower in the middle, some man-made waterfall, some beach theme decorations and the toilet is more like old wooden ship theme.

1st Floor: Rome. I think this is the most gorgeous floor, especially the toilets =) They have some painting on the ceilling and some marble sculptures.

2nd Floor: Paris. Hmm... This floor is nice but I find the toilet a little... hmm... It is airport theme. Why would they make an airport theme on the Paris's floor?

3rd Floor: Tokyo. A very interesting floor and a nice toilet.

4rd Floor: London. Nice decoration. The toilet's theme is the London's tube, lol.

5th Floor: Istanbul.. Gorgeous light =)

6th Floor & 7th Floor: San Francisco Pier & Hollywood. The toilet in the 7th floor is gorgeous, complete with red carpet, lighting.. =)

Day 2:
We went to the Pratunam morning market,  Platinum mall, Baiyoke tower, Big C & Central World.

Today was a busy busy day with a whole lot of walking.

We went out early to the Pratunam morning market. We took the subway Chit Lom and walk all the way to Pratunam market. It is not a short walk and wearing a good walking shoe would definetely helps a lot. We walk past Central world and there is a lot of street vendor selling various kind of food along the way. Walk across the bridge and soon enough we reach the Pratunam market.

Took this picture on an overhead bridge at Ratchaprarop road. One the first picture, you can see part of the platinum mall on the left and on the second picture, you can see the Baiyoke tower on the right.

Brought these, 5 for 100 bahts

At the McDonald in Platinum Mall. Sitting at this place to have our breakfast while people watching =) We went into the platinum mall (please note that there is 2 mall, each is link via connecting bridge.

So many stuff were sold... from shoes, clothes... endless. ..(didn't took pictures tho) but I remember to take picture of the food we had at the food court at the top of the mall.

Seafood mash fried (crab, shrimp, squids, muessel), quite tasty =)

Nice pork internal.. cant's remember the name but it is very tasty.

Pork satay with honey

And Mango sticky rice =))

After lunch, we walked to Baiyoke tower passing by the Pratunam market. By then, it was so so crowded with people we can barely walk (It was Thursday, can't imagine what it will be like on weekends =S)

The pictures we took from the top of Baiyoke (most of it is in video)

After baiyoke, we walked to Central World and I brought some Naraya bags =P

Went to BigC to brought some local snacks & had our dinner. By then, it was raining so heavily outside..

Super spicy tomyam....

Pad thai (like our char koay teow, except it is sourish, sweet and much more spicy)
